Still fast. 18c Hutchinson Turbo tyres might be the answer there rather than rider prowess.

Took it out today during a hail storm. Phone pic didnt come out. Have been looking for excuses to ride it out for 'errands' for the rest of the day.

I've only gone and actually ridden the damn thing!

Some car boot sale Shimano £20 RS10 with Vittoria tyres transformed the ride (its the tyres, they're a 'normal' width) and has allowed me to trundle the highways and byways of the slightly woldy Northants/ Cambs border

BTW, there's nothing wrong with RX100. Had it on my first proper bike, worked well and lasted for many years. Even the hubs

I might have to go modern-ish and go for sti or at least bar-end shifters.

I think the initial problem with the white/yellow (56cm) frame was the top tube length, its quite short on both frames. I got a stiff back on the first proper distance ride on the blue/white (59cm). Moving the seat back and raising it about 0.5cm helped straight away.

One thing I noticed out and about was a: theres a hell of a lot more cyclists about! b: new road bikes seem to have the rider bolt upright? Even as far back as 2011 I noticed the cheap to mid priced bikes sitting more upright - wasnt the whole point of a roadie to be aerodynamic or am I just plain daft?
