Kona Kilauea 1995 possibly for sale - West Yorkshire

"Just a thought though - do you really need suspension at all, regardless of Evans' opinion?"

Seconded. Have little regard for Evans' opinion!

I had that exact bike with 1998 Marzocchi Z2 BAM forks on it and it was great. Be careful with the age of the forks you buy as from 1999 I don't think you can change the steerer on the forks to a threaded one which you will need on that bike unless you change the headset and stem. Changing the stem may not be a bad thing though as the best things I ever did with that bike were put suspension forks on, put a shorter stem on and put some bars on with 25mm rise (V brakes are also a good upgrade on the front and then you don't need forks with a cable stop).

Best of Luck

Re:

As we're pretty much on the topic then, what do folks recommend as an 80mm travel fork with a canti hanger? I've got a similar dilemma on a bike with SIDs - they're brilliant but V only and I'd really like to run cantis... Did earlier SIDs have a canti stop? Frame is 95/6 but I'll take performance over correctness!
