Kona come home - 1990 CinderCone Campag Rebuild

A lovely build with a lot of care and thought put into it - a great result! The only thing I'd change is the wheels - to me they do not match the rest of the bike. Didn't Mavic 517s come out around 1997 or so, far too late to belong on this beauty. And the blue anodised Hope hubs seem garish surrounded by the flowy silver Campag components. Very difficult and expensive to find wheels with period-correct Campag hubs these days, but even some nice silver XT or XC Pro (laced to period rims) polished up would make a world of difference.
In any case, I hope you find some time to ride it and show it off over the summer!

Really impressed with your skills, particularly the paint.
It’s nice to see another ‘one owner from new’ bike being saved.
I am doing a refurb on my 91 Cinder Cone. The paint is heavily ‘patina’d’ (if that’s even a word 😆). I am in two minds whether to get it resprayed in the original colour or keep as is.
