Right ladies and gents I have a 1991 Kona Cinder Cone I am selling. The grand plan is to overhaul it and flog it on, but capitalising on the Black Friday hubbub / hysteria I shall be offering it in its 'unrestored' state this Friday only. You will need to collect the bike in person from Woking, Surrey. I will not post. This a true one-day only offer! £75

1991 Kona Cinder Cone - 21" centre to top seat tube. 23" c-c actual top tube.

Cinder Gold (as shown in the 1991 catalogue) with black forks.

'Survivor' condition, the frame has the usual scuffs but isn't too bad, but the forks and stem have surface rust.

The bike is ~95% original (see RetroBIKE Kona archive for full spec) to my knowledge the only non-standard parts are the tyres, tubes, brake pads and possibly grips.

The chain is just over the 0.5 wear limit and I believe is original.

The rims have virtually no wear and are flat.

The cables appear all original.

The seat post is freely moving - I've not tried the stem.

The tyres are cheap-o ones and are starting to show cracks so need to be binned, the tubes do appear to hold pressure.

It needs a strip-down, re-grease, fresh cables and general tidy-up before use.

Re:

The stem moves freely, the rear wheel spacing is way off or is dished badly :? However on the rear at least, the original braking surface is still there :D Here's some pics:

Re:

150mm stem  definitely needs a repaint. Under all that muck.... how do you remove a Suntour freehub anyway?

Shame I didn't know you were looking when it was on eBay - could've saved you £128 and it would've included a Joe's Cage too

Maybe that's the deal for Friday, hope I haven't spoiled it!

Re:

There I was thinking it had slipped under the RetroBIKE radar!

Yes it will be much cheaper, but I'm not giving it away. A '91 CC frane was sold on here for £50 recently.

No swaps thanks.
