Retro Newbie
Hi..
I purchased this bike recently and it would seem it is a 1999 (01) GT Zaskar in Hot Mango paint according to Bikepedia.com.
Here are the photos if anyone is interested in confirmimg if this is correct or not please?

As you can probably see that despite its age it has been barely used and is completely original to my knowledge.
Frame number is... 04981*** followed by 18.

As I have not been riding for over 30 years I would appreciate any advice with regard to this particlar model regarding typical things that wear out/need lubeing/habit of cracking/known areas of problems etc etc.
Any further information that anyone can share with me would be brilliant.

Thank you.
Nije

only thing I can see wrong with it is it is too small for me! probably a perfect size for you though.

Ride and enjoy.

oh, and welcome to Retrobike!

Frame was made in April 1998 by the frame number.

Lovely American made zaskar :D

Not really much to look for on the frame as these things are bombproof.

If everything else is working ok and the tyres aren't perished i'd just lube the chain and get out on it ;)

Chris.

Um. Just as well I read the first post, as I would have said it was a 16" frame. Shows what I know.
Not least as I'm 6 foot tall and my 2 GT's are 16" frames and appear to fit me well.Or maybe I don't know any better...........
