I’ve been looking for a nice retro MTB for my wife to use as tourer on our forthcoming holiday. I’ve been to see several and very nearly bought one but they’ve all been heavily used dogs tbh. So, with time running out, I decided to do up the old family hack, a 7005 alu Radford (Claud Butler) MTB from the early 2000's with a known history. Lots of new and NOS parts installed in the past 48 hrs and best of all, some infinitely adjustable trekking bars. G*d knows, it’s no collector’s item but it's light enough and pretty comfortable with the steel fork.
She's happy, I’m happy and I’m on my second Guinness so what’s not to like?! When we're back from the holiday, I'll start looking for something decent and steel again - for myself :)
