Help with Post mount bodge & Avid BB7

Cheers - the top part of the mount on my Mars fork doesn't extend anything like as far out from the fork leg as that, which is why I wondered whether it had been cut down at some point!
 
If the calliper works with 160 rotor with the spherical washers, as per your 2nd photo, the post has not been cut, you just need a second set on the bolt head side, and probably longer M6 bolts. You could ride them like that but the bolt may put the posts under stress by not having parallel face and crack the post so NOT RECOMMENDED. Many a fork has been ruined by cracked posts or stripped threads.

As ^^^^ said, they are same as on v-brakes.

A quick google for manitou forks showed the upper post in both lengths.
 
Had exactly the same problem on Manitou SX, solved with a few washers. It's done a few hundred miles since with no problems.
