Retro Newbie
I bought some vintage alloy drop bars on ebay for my Carlton project but on unwrapping them it was obvious that they were twisted and had a slight bend. The seller had described them 'In good working order and ready to use. Some basic aesthetic imperfections in the form of scrapes from previous general use, not too obtrusive. Tape will hide most of the imperfection!'
The thing is, I quite like the bars and am thinking that they could be re-aligned to some extent using localised annealing. Has anyone successfully tried this? Would it ruin the bars?
The other option of course is to send them back but I can't find anything else in my price range at the moment.
