GT LTS DS Bottom Bracket Thread repair ?

Retro Newbie
Hi, I've picked up a GT LTS DS front triangle to replace mine as mine's cracked at the pinch bolt on the top pivot. The non drive side bottom bracket thread on the new frame has been butchered at some point but the drive side its fine. I've got my bottom bracket in it and it's tight but it was stripping the thread on the cone so I don't think it's going to last very long.

Is there anything I can do to get the thread re-tapped (the frame's Aluminium) or could I fit a thread less bottom bracket to it even thought to thread is still pronounced in the bottom bracket shell?

Argos Racing can machine out the threads and replace with a bonded in version

I had this done on a couple of bikes a few years back when BB's worked loose and trashed the threads

Got some pictures of the damaged threads?
Here you go, not the best so I’m not sure you can see the damage properly.

Can they do that with aluminium frames and do you know ball park cost ?

A threadless BB is undersize so you don't have to machine out the threads, it should fit fine.

I'm reading that the threadless BBs are not that great, do you have any experience with them and can you recommend any ?
