Dirt Disciple
Here's my fairly recently acquired GT LTS DH, I think its a 96 or 97 model.

Still can't get pics to appear in posts :?

I've always loved the look of these bikes and never had full bounce before. I have a little bit perversely added a triple chainring and bits from my Tequesta to try and force it to be a trail bike! Its probably some kind of blasphemy but each to their own, right!? ;)

I'm gradually upgrading all the pivots to BETD Goldtec bearings, the lower pivot has a lot of play so it is a bit flexy when pedalling at the moment! Recently upgraded to a Junior T front fork which has pushed the front right up, not ideal for something that I want to go uphill sometimes too - the front does feel a tad light and the fork seems to be better at big bumps than small ones, not sure if there's enough weight over the front?

It's pretty heavy, but it's comfy and relaxed to ride and the rear suspension is just so plush! I do find that it can ghost shift on rougher sections, not sure if this is due to the flexy chainstay pivots or just a part of full-sus biking?

You should be able to tell the year from the serial number on the BB shell, first couple of numbers are the month, second is the year e.g 0197 would be January 97.

The trunion mount on yours would suggest 97 but mine was a late 96 with the trunion mount.

Heres my old one, now sadly stripped and sold :( , they do ride very nice, weight should'nt be too bad, mine was'nt over 30Lb even with discs and big rims and tyres, guess yours should be the same with the tripple clamps, maybe a bit less.
