Gravity dropper type seatposts... anyone use one?

Anyone use one? Crank Brother Joplin, Maverick Speedthingy (as was), Gravity dropper etc.

Any recomendations for a good one or even which ones to avoid?

(And no, a hite-rite won't do)

I've heard they're great when they work, but you need to service them very regularly to keep them working, although I've also heard the later ones have much better seals/reliability than earlier ones.... have a look about at some freeride/all mountain forums they'll let you know...

From what I hear (on other forums) the Gravity Dropper is supposed to be the most reliable one. Fricking expensive @~£160 though!

I don't see the point with them. It only takes a few seconds to drop the post down normally with a qr. They're not worth £150 to me.

So your recommendation for a good one is?
