By the 80's Raleigh had reverted to the good old British Standard so I'm surprised it's something different.

It's an 87 Raleigh Granada (bb code WA700nnnn) and there is no way a 26.4mm 'crown race' will fit!! (the steerer measures something like 27mm from memory)

Sorry, I thought by then Raleigh had dropped the 26 TPI headset thread but the crown race was ISO size in any case.

Anyone that's cytech certified knows what crown BB and head tube facing is. The tools to do it however are approx £500 a piec. The crown facing tool from park won't let you face a different diameter. File it down and then find a frame builder that might have bothered spending 500 on a tool used once in a blue moon.
