Well you live and learn every day, can honestly say after 17 yrs of Biking these are the first I've ever come across.
To me bar ends are used for climbing and lets face it you next to never use your brakes when going uphill making these redundant, but they're never the less a querky piece of MTB history, just like the URT backend on my Orange X1. . . . . a good Idea at the time, but an evolutionary deadend
