Bought a set of Judy SLs off ebay, description was

"In very good working condition, Some marks on the stickers on the lowers and a few small marks but otherwise very good condition indeed.
Forks work very, very smoothly - i can compress them just about 1 ". (with no preload) no sticking in either direction and fast smooth action with minimium damping. Both legs have their original pre load adjusters - both turn freely. Aluminium Steerer - 195 mm long in excellent condition. (Star fangled nut fitted) Crown in very good condition some very small marks but otherwise a shiny mirror finish (original)
Both stanchions are in very good condition no bare or bald spots..
Anodized damping adjuster present and works fine."

When I received them elastomers well on the way to dust and stanchion legs are shot at the bottom bushing location on one leg. Emailed seller and he replied that he did not know and did not know how to open the forks to tell.

So tough luck or should I go back?

If you think the forks have been misrepresented and do not match the description then you can make noises to return them for a refund..
If the seller doesn't play ball, raise a dispute and see where you get..

Postage will possibly be at your cost though. . .
