Any IT boffins any advice as a friend showed me this e-mail he got - 'One week later, I have already installed Trojan virus to Operating Systems of all the devices that you use to access your email.
In fact, it was not really hard at all (since you were following the links from your inbox emails).
All ingenious is simple. =)
This software provides me with access to all the controllers of your devices (e.g., your microphone, video camera and keyboard).
I have downloaded all your information, data, photos, web browsing history to my servers.
I have access to all your messengers, social networks, emails, chat history and contacts list.
My virus continuously refreshes the signatures (it is driver-based), and hence remains invisible for antivirus software.'

I told them they haven't got much to worry about as this looks like spammer trying to get money from them?? But then my IT skills is limited to Mac.

I got a spam one a while ago, claiming they'd activated my camera and filmed me having a J Arthur while watching porn.

I knew it was bollards as I dont watch internet porn - I'm old fadhioned and still buy the mags.

So I replied threatening to kick his teeth in and have heard nothing since.

I know what you mean. I looked at this e-mail and thought how lucky I am that I don't do social media, video chat, web porn. When I first got the www. I was a kid in a toy shop. But that was over 20 yrs ago. Now it bores me. And now we have left the EU buying on line is a pain and expensive. It was so easy to buy my lovely carbon from Europe. Now even some of the shops don't know the rules on selling to the UK.
