DIY forks..your thoughts please.

Didnt Greg Fuquay create a bunch of rigid fork legs to run in a Mag21 steerer assembly at one point?


(Doesnt mean it was a succesful endeavour)

a crash may help straighten my teeth! :LOL:
the theory is that im simply replacing oem with same or better,securing the tubes exactly the same way.dropouts will get me thinking harder but ive got something in the pipe for that,just need a good alu welder.also i need to find a way to create that slightly thicker bit that the headset ring snuggles down on at base of steerer.
gained knowledge so far.....

secure leg tops with resin b4 fixing.
forget knurling.
test before going mad!
fit gumshield.

May I please add the following to your learning log:

Get mate to sign disclaimer and take on first and subsequent mad tests. You will of course be unable to test the forks yourself as you will have to stand watching how they flex etc.

Use a pace crown race collar to fit a headset...
