Different versions of FC-M730 cranks? Mountain / Road?

Wonderful! Another learning experience!

Are there different variations of XT FC-M730 cranks? On the the ones I just got, the inner ring hits the chainstay. (Wish I'd done a test fit before spending about six hours polishing them, but oh well...)

I have LX (M563) now, and the base (where the square taper is) looks noticeably thicker than the M730s I was trying to install. Wish I'd thought to measure or taken a pic. Also, my M563's arms curve upward aggressively before getting parallel to the frame. These M730s don't curve as much. Not sure if that matters.

I was careful to install the inner chainring with the proper spacers and orient it correctly as well. I'm sure it was on there the right way.

Finally, I noticed there are two letters after then size stamp on the arms - do they have any special meaning? I'm guessing no but wanted to ask anyway.

I am running a BB-UN51 bottom bracket, 113mm.

Appreciate any help!

EDIT: the cranks I got had 46/36/26 SG rings. I swapped over my 46/36/24 SG-X rings, if that matters...
