Cheers for the update Si. We'll see but might head west instead as it's clear over here and we could get a full ride in if we go up the lakes. :?

Yep think we will head up to the lakes dude.

Really sorry to miss this ride and rally was really looking forward to it as well. It's too much of a risk getting stuck over there.

Will catch up soon though.

If people are still going then take care on them there roads. ;)

One foot deep snow on the sides of the Whitby-Scarb road, a serious frost starting now (6pm Fri). No chance of MTBing tomorrow as far as I can see.

This is a great shame, so many people genuinely looking forward to this and the weather spoils it. Myself and mr_ship were coming over in the morning, but its just not fun or indeed safe travelling in such conditions. What a shame, looking forward to next one already.

Things are not too bad. Just been into Dalby and whilst it is hard going on open ground its easy under the trees- we have done around 7 miles tonight in under an hour.
All major roads are clear and minor roads are passable with care. Its below freezing point now and there is ice forming but its not bad. There has been some more snow but again nothing major.
We still aim to be in Dalby for 9:30 should anyone turn up.

If there is any further snow tonight i will let you all know.

Si

Just back in from the Beer festival up at Cropton

Been light snow showers on and off but maybe only a couple of inch, Cropton bank was block with taxi's but managed the back way through Newton

Main roads are OK'ish side roads should be fine with care

See you in Dalby :)

Managed to find some wi-fi. All ok this morning, some light snow overnight but again roads are clear. We will be heading into Dalby after an industrial breakfast.

We went into service and Parc Ferme last night to chat with some of the crews. The French and Belgian crews who have brought over a bunch of tarmac racers looked absolutely shell shocked having never driven on gravel never mind snow.
Only one car had rolled last night- typically it happened to be our SAAB 96. Its first event too. Damage wasnt too bad and it still leads the Historic class.

Some stunning looking cars to enjoy today. The Opel's were entertaining, the Escorts fast and the Stratos sounds fantastic. They were are all upstaged by the little Renault 5 Turbo 2 though which took me back to the snowy Montes of the early 80's.
