Cycle Tech Nova Pro information?

Hi,

This afternoon I picked up a Cycle Tech Nova Pro in, it seems, near original condition (except for the tires). It is equipped with the Deore XT M730 groupset and runs Araya RM20 super hard rims.

I have added some pictures below.

Information on the internet appears to be quite poor regarding this brand. Does anyone have any information on the brand Cycle Tech or the frame specifically?

Thank you,

Jourian

Hi,

Cycletech was to my knowledge a Taiwan brand sold here in EU via various importers/retailers in certain countries
To my knowledge there was a bigger importer or something like an EU HQ in the Netherlands.

The retailer in Switzerland was Grepper in Bern, in Germany via P.A. Trading

To me, this is also still the same brand in general also for older bikes which had been just sold as "tech".

And please get not confused, the swiss brand "MTB cyceltech" from Butch Gaudy has nothing to do with "cycletech", "cycle tech" or "tech".

Also they never had a great image or brand awareness, the products have be solid.
Also nice stuff like Tange Ultimate, later some Titanal and also Titan Bikes have been sold, also some own labeled components.

Typical Cycletech was successful with offering solid tech for an attractive price.

I do have a few ads, also one for the Nova Pro, but this is from 1993

Yours should be older. From what i can see from the pictures and used components, like STIs, maybe 1990 or 91.

I have a listing (without pictures) in an old buyers guide from the german Bike Magazin where the 1991 Nova Pro came with Aluminium 7000 frame, complete XT, Araya RM20 rims, 12,4Kg heavy and 2599DM expensive.

I think the Dutch distributor was based in Limburg. I encountered one just like yours on holliday in october.
