Computer Link to Internet

Shaun,

Great question - the answer is - I have no idea! My father bought it when his desktop ceased working, I helped him order this one and got someone to have a look at his old one. The person fixed his old one and the new one has not been taken out of the box. I am guessing it could be 3 years old now.

I'm using a homeplug because the pc is a floor lower than the only entry point for the Internet (house was built shortly after the war and the electrics are all still from that era) .
It works great as long as both plugs are on the same branch of the electric wiring in your house. Once once the distance gets too long, the signal deteriorates though.

^^ that is interesting.

i think i will go with the original suggestion - the dongle. I have to presume that as we have good wifi around the house (and garage) that it would be the easiest and cheapest option.
