Closing in on the pedals

I love riding this Marin over all of my other bikes. It is a steel Hawk Hill with aluminum TiTec seatpost. As is common, the seatpost is greased (Red ‘n Tacky) to prevent it from seizing in the frame. During the course of riding, the seatpost slowly works it way down into frame and I‘m riding BMX style after about 5 miles.

2 questions;
What do y’all use on your seatposts to prevent seizing that does not allow it to move?

How much torque can I apply to the integrated/welded clamp without breaking off the bolt pads?

you must have the wrong size seatpost, you should be able to un clamp it and move it and clamp it up again without it moving while riding
