Classic steel frame set, Columbus Genius, NOS

Digger90

Old School Hero
Classic Italian handmade steel frame set for sale.

Made in 1983/1984 therefore perfect for L’Eroica, Eroica Britannia, classic summer rides or just spinning around on.

The frame was NOS when I bought it from Brick Lane Bikes last year and according to them is made from Columbus Genius tubing, although there are no tubing decals on the frame. It is a very well made frame with outstanding craftsmanship… very high quality welds, internal cable routing for rear brake, Columbus dropouts and beautifully curvaceous seat stays which are part chromed, as are the chain stays.

The condition is virtually as new as I rode it for only a few dry weekends. The Colnago decals were added by me and can very easily be removed if not to your taste.

It has semi-horizontal dropouts so can be run as fixie/singlespeed if you wish.

Size is 56cms traditional (54cms c-to-c ST and 54cms c-to-c TT).

It will come complete with the following, all of which were brand new just a few rides ago, like the frameset itself:

- BLB seat post
- Stronglight A9 headset (aluminium body, cartridge bearings - very good quality)
- Quill stem adapter, with 1 inch to 1/18th shim included
- FSA hollow tech 2 style BB

Collection from near Guildford or Horsham preferred but can post at cost.

The shape and size of the tubes certainly looks similar to genius, but there's no way that frame is from 83/84. 93/94 more like, or maybe even a bit later.

Genius tubes, shaped stays, semi-vertical dropouts, internal brake cable, tig welding... you wouldn't find any of those in the 80's!

It looks very nice though - I really quite like it! (not my size though)

Agree with Foz on age, also like it, very nice, have you a picture of it built up so as to understand the geometry?
