Playing with carbon fiber isn't as difficult as you think. (Don't believe everything you read)

They should be able to sort you out with some materials for a start and most places will give you some good advice on how to use them.

I started out by making some carbon panels for my motorbike, after showing them to a few people I got a job making interiors for private jets. After that I got a job making carbon and titanium control rods for airbus/westlands.

I made this in one piece, the laminate itself is 6mm thick and the whole part contains 90 pieces of 2" 200gsm carbon tape (not a piece of fiberglass in sight!).

The trick to making this stuff is lots of trial runs using fiberglass (MUCH cheaper!!) then when your confident enough that your process is right change over to carbon, just make sure you use the same weave and weight fiberglass!
