Cannondale F900 headset preload question

Hi guys,
Grabbed a cheap F900 off marketplace last night night,
instantly noticed the head bearing were a touch rough... My question is how do you apply preload to them like a conventional 1"1/8 headset? Does its just rely on on the bearings being a snug fit?

Also is there a top cap missing or a dust cap of some kind? As you can see the top head bearings 20220603_134647.jpg 20220603_105208.jpg

Any helps greatly appreciated

There is no preloading as the bearings are press fit and the forks then go in, you just need to get new bearings.

You can also get a dust seal to go between the stem and the top bearing, although, from memory, I don’t think the early ones came with one…No harm in adding one though.
