I recall that Budnitz may have 'copied' or 'ripped off' a small scale frame building company called Black Sheep Bikes and actually copied their frame designs.
Looks like someone read the rumours about Specialized in the early days and though he could play the same game, although I doubt he will emulate Specialized ever.
