So , a update on my attempts to build stuff a bit different
Sold a few M950/2 groupsets and parts to free funds for a couple of builds.
The plan was to do a M900 build on a 93 3DV Zaskar with Spins and turquoise bits. However I’m unsure whether the frame is good enough as the other parts are mint and the frame has scratches which I feel will look odd with minty bits elsewhere. Need to have a proper think on this one. So I may try to source M900 in average condition or even go M737 parts on that one
I also have acquired a mint 96 Ink blue Zaskar which I may donor all the XTR parts from the 95 Zaskar in silver I built a week ago and then build the 95 with nice M900 bits and the turquoise bits/spins.

The ink is almost done. Needs a yellow Flite
The purple is long way off but going m900 or m737
The red one needs tyres as decided the Wildgrippers don’t suit so I’m going GtHadley /517 wheels with black smoke/dart
Only 1 XTR M950 part in sight (rear mech) so I’ve done well I feel. Little steps…

I think,I can honestly say I cannot relate to your problem. Let yourself go. Paint with your parts. Not paint your parts. That will get you arrested. Or at least turpentine burns.
