Thanks for the info. I haven't ridden it far yet (waiting for brakes to replace the 747s) but it seems taller and shorter than my 19 inch Kona Koa. And yes, you are right it is definitely on the heavier side - the rear triangle in particular seems quite chunky. I heard from a mate that Bill Nickson Cycle shop used to sell them mail order in the mid 90s and he said the give away is that they were sold with an XT front mech and a K Alloy seat post - this bike has both. He said they also had black cromo fat tube forks but the bike has probably been upgraded since then.
Where the stickers were peeled off the lacquer has come off in some places too so I am thinking of getting it sand blasted and powder coated black - any thoughts? Do you think I'll lose the retro look if I do that?
