Ladies & Gents,
I'm a member of the organising commitee for Bike Blenheim Palace. In 2012 (18th & 19th August) the event is going to be expanded to 2 days & we are looking to include more cycling disciplines. I wondered whether any Retrobikers might want to get involved?

The events that might be of interest include:
1. 20km TT on the closed Blenheim park roads
2. 40km off road sportive
3. 1km Sprint up the main drive to the palace

We can create a Retrobike category for each race.

I'd also be keen to hear if you would like to have a stand & show of some of your lovely metal.

Some of you may have seen coverage of the Brompton World Championships that are hosted at BBP every year. Here is some info about the event:

PS - I've put a similar post on road bike section

Taken from an email sent to Herr Valins earlier:

'So, I see no reason why the Retrobike crew couldn’t compete in – 20km TT, CX, 40km XC, 1km Duel & of course the 60 & 100 mile sportives. Plenty to do, Sir. And of course you can chuck some coals on the BBQ & enjoy a few tinnies on Saturday evening.'

If it goes ahead, I may well come down with the family. Used to 'live' at Woodstock/Bladon many years ago.

Short of a metorite falling on the palace, BBP is definitely going ahead. And everyone is free to join in the fun anyway, irrespective of what you ride. Would just be pretty dandy to have some Retrobike categories at the races & a club presence in the Event Village to engage new punters. AA

I'm up for this, I wanted to enter this year but work go in the way. Looks very well organised - the course signage took over the cotswolds for a couple of weeks!
