Best tablet under £100 - SORTED, THANKS :-)

Hello fellow Retrobikers,

I'm sure there are some on here who are pretty clued up on technology. I'm asking for some help please. My father is not technology-minded but would like to get a tablet. He doesn't want to spend much to start with... just to see if he gets on with it.

Can I have some recommendations please on what would be considered the best option for under £100? The bigger the screen the better. He will only use it for email and web-surfing. Have Apple products now been around long enough that I could get an 'old' iPad? Or is he better off going for a newer Android device?

If you are quick off the mark, you could pick up a bargain from Gumtree.

iPad Air are sometimes down around £100.

I bought a Linx 1010 leather from Sainburys a few weeks ago for £99.00. Windows 10 so more a PC that tablet. I love it.

On the flip side of the coin I have had acer and asus tablets and the mini USB charging port were flimsy and flakey on both.....

Just bought an Ipad air 2 used via gumtree. You pay for what you get.

Would you be interested in a 3rd gen iPad 16gb. Excellent condition?

It's fine as long as you don't load it with too many apps/photos.

Ironically, no misses! You can even shove it in in the dark with relative ease.

I like the idea of a Windows tablet, I guess the Surface Pro is going to be a good option there, once the prices stabilise.
