hi everyone, just finished my racer off and it's rapid!!! but i have no idea as to the history of this bike? can any one give me any info on it like:
frame info, maker, what groupset would have been on it, whats it worth££'s etc...
i have looked all over the net and only found info on the rider Gianbattista 'gibi' Baronchelli and nothing on the bikes.

if you need any info off me to help out just shout. it has the number 54 on the bottom bracket and the word 'gibi' in the frame work at the seat stays and the crown of the fork.

any help would be great guys..........

I really know nothing about this one, but looks 1975/80 ish. If it was supplied complete and had Campagnolo ends then it is likely to have had a full group set.
If the seat tube outside diameter is 1 1/8 inches, and the seat pin 27.2 then it likely has butted tubing. 26.4 would be a plain gauge or possibly a sleeve brazed inside the seat lug. Is the bracket Italian 36mm x 24 TPI right hand thread both sides?
Earlier Italian frames tended to have crimped chainstays.
The top eyes in the seat stays look like the British style used in Italy from the 1970's.
If you can get sharp close-ups of the details it could help.
This is all in the "possibles" rather than "probables", so many builders used the same components.
There are some on here rather more knowledgeable, I was more into 1950/60's.

thanks for the info, there is a bit to go on......
the pic's are rubbish i know will try to get a few better one's on here soon.
it has 'gipimme' drop outs and has italian thread B/B.
the tubes are the thinnist as well taking 26.1 fitting i think for the front mech.
