Shaun's comment got me wondering when the 7102009 Campag braze on became available. I've had a look back though some period magazines and books and it seems that a few pro teams were using it in 1981 and it may have been available as early as May 1980 - I think Bernard Hinault's `Profile' Gitane time trial bike (the one with squashed tubes and backward facing brakes) may have had one. Still looking for a clear picture to confirm.

The first production bike that I sold with them was in 1981 and the French style ones also came out in late 81. There were a number of forerunners from the 70s but they were from individual builders and not mass producers like Peugeot.
