A visit to Carradice

Brylcreem?

My father used to make his own.
He boiled up a thick glutinous liquid called liquid paraffin with a cake of what was called white beeswax.
Poured it into old Brylcreem jars.
Awful stuff, but then I suppose the modern stuff isn't much better.
I never did like a greasy quiff.

We all had a greasy quiff bitd. And caned by the Head for chucking sticks up into Horse Chestnut trees to facilitate the early release of conkers. And for sticking a compass and a pair of dividers into a fellow pupil's bum.
Happy days!!
