91 GT Zaskar - rebuilt to ride

OLLYROUSE

Retro Newbie
Hi All,

A few years back I took on a project to polish and rebuild an old '91 GT Zaskar frame.

I wanted it to be my everyday bike, and move away from my 29er carbon Scott back to something with real grit.
I spent a lot of time doing it as was in no rush, and a lot of money too.
A few years on, and after having a child and another on the way this beauty of a bike has just been gathering dust and not having its soul ridden up and down mountains like I imagined her to.
Honestly, I've taken the bike out less than 5 times and she's hardly done 20 miles - this I am sad about! - please don't grill me!!

Have a look - I'm not certain this ticks anyones box but open to sensible offers.
We're in Royal Wootton Bassett - near to Swindon.

  • Original handbuilt 1991cGT Zaskar Frame, 18" U Brake model - orig ball burnished and repolished - now starting to oxidise a little and could do with some TLC to get shine up again
    THOMPSON STEM - ELITE X4
    HOPE HEADSET
    EASTON EC70 CARBON BARS
    XTR 11 SPEED SHIFTER
    XT DISC BREAKS
ROCK SHOX SID RLT 100MM SOLO AIR FORK
    EASTON HEAVEN RIMS AND HUBS
    RACING RALPH TYRES
    DMR V8 PEDALS
    SRAM X1 11 CHAINSET / HUB
    XTR REAR MEACH 11
    THOMPSON ELITE INLINE SEATPOST
    SRAM XX1 CASSETTE
    PROLOGO SADDLE NAGO EVO X8

Spec is good, ride is fun!

Pricing up it kinda did me over £2.5k....

Any sensible offers considered... let’s try £1000?

Many thanks
Olly

Hi,
Guess you could also/better try offering this in the >98 For Sale section.
Good luck.

but the frame is the 91 era...... u brake studs sit at tyre ..

Re:

I appreciate we shouldn't talk about values but no body's going to pay top book price for a nigh on 30 year old frame with newish components on it.
Just a friendly view on your sale.
