Just picked up my lunch and spotted this cool white and grey 80's British Eagle outside a local charity shop, they want £45 for it.

Stickers on it say "British Eagle" and "The Bike", there's a Reynolds 531CS (club sport?) tubing sticker.

Front mech is Sachs Huret - anyone any idea how old the bike is?

Its been well used and the rear mech and shifters are cheapo replacements, but the frame and fork look good, and those handlebars are way cool.

Theres a pump peg on the seattube and full set of braze ons, AFAIK 531CS means 531 main tubes and 501 stays and fork.

So...its pricey but the money is going to charity....should I rescue it?

EDIT: 531CS means "Club Sport Double butted main tubes" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reynolds_Cycle_Technology so probably a good frame huh.

Ah well dreams trashed.

It was gone when I went past this lunchtime. Nevermind, I guess I have too many bikes already.
