i looked at these and asked a few questions but decided against it

if you read the reviews from when they were originally sold on the tesco website, they are somewhat less that glowing. basically the overall consensus is the bike is proper trash and not well put together either. you could assume there are so many available cos tesco got too many returns and gave up on them as a bad lot.

100 quid for a srf5 hub is not too bad, but the old is 120mm, which is a bit restrictive, and the wheel it comes in has a crappy rim and not well made. the worrying thing is quite a few reviews mentioned the gears not working properly, which could just be the shifter set up, but could equally be some internal problems.

all in all a bit of a gamble and the 'no returns or refunds' policy doesnt inspire confidence. the hub itself is i think about 125 quid retail, and also comes in more useful 130 and 135 old

Still though, even with the cost of fixing it up it's cheaper than what gazelle charge for the same machine... by about 5 times. Not bad considering they're basically selling it as scrap to cut a hub out of.
