27" wheels and modern brakes?

Thanks Bats for that info. On my latest aquisition some bright spark put Deore V-brake levers with Weinmann 570 calipers - well you can stop it if you can squeeze hard enough but I wouldn't like to try it in the wet. I'd feel safer on my other bike with normal levers, 730 calipers on Rigida dimpled steel rims!

I've done the Vbrake lever on calipers myself, the genius Mr Eric Bromilow selling me them in response to me asking "have you got brake levers for a road bike with flat handlebars?". Me not knowing better went out into traffic and nearly died. Haven't been near his shop since.
