2005-2006 KLEIN ATTITUDE 650B "Throw Back" Build

This was a winter project turned spring and now summer.

I got this Frame NOS. It has some shop nicks but its new. I have building it up as a 650B bike with a rigid fork. Its a giggles bike ... sort of a Klein "what if" theme.

The group set is my favourite until this years XTR (looks wise) ... Shimano XTR 960 with 952 shifters. It will either be a 3x9 or a 2x9.

Most importantly the tires clear with room. I am hoping for some new 650b Skinwalls to get released. A few manufacturers have them in the works, or so they say. Otherwise I will fork out the big $$$ for a set of tubless Dugasts :facepalm:

I've been looking for a nice steel H/T frame for a while - KHS, Kona, Voodoo, etc, but all these sparkly Kleins are making me think that an Al frame might be ok.

There's actually more room than pictured. I gotta finish this thing. I have been having a terrible time paint matching the fork and bar combo to the frame. I think it will be a total repaint, which is silly on a NOS frame, but I may have no choice.

Everything is fitted in a mock up for this. Looks great. The hold up is the forks/handlebar painting.

Does anyone know a paint match for this Klein Blue? I think I may have to do a full repaint if I can't sort it.

Why don't you go with a carbon fork? Carbon looks good on any colour...

I can go the flat black or carbon but I wanted to do an all matching look like the old kleins.
