Here is a project i will (next to many others) be working on during the next weeks and maybe months. A 1998 WTB Phoenix SE frame with Type II fork. Beautiful.

So what is plan?

It came with a WTB Toggle Cam rear brake and i have the equivalent front Rollercam brake. Check. I have a pair of WTB Grease Guard hubs and a WTB Drop Bar. Main thing i need is a 1 1/8 LD stem, which i probably have to get made by Clockwork bikes in the US.

And last but not least, since this is already a repaint i might consider a new paint too, since i would love a blue metallic color or something in the direction.

Best regards

Moritz

Yes Moritz! Beautiful

Hi very nice. Does a type 2 fork work with an SE frame? I thought they were suspension corrected. You will love the ride :)

Re:

Getting there slowly. Have put it together with a rough mix of XT parts as well as a modern-ish Brodie stem and Ritchey Force Lite bar. Just needed it for a ride in two weeks so took what's left-. But the rest is mainly WTB, especially the brand new wheelset.

Are you still planning on the drop bar and ld stem build?
Would love to see that, and metalic blue sounds awesome. ;)
