Looking at that again I see that that XY has less setback than the one I have. I didn't realize you could get them close to zero offset. Very nice indeed. I still like the thomson better though and don't think it looks out of place.

yep, normal version and commonly seen is the XY with the offset. that one that shutter got off me is a XY0, as in zero offset. ;)

Re: 1996 Rocky Mountain Blizzard - 15th Anniversary Build

Yup! And I should have bought it from you long ago when I bought the frame =)

Thx =)

Re: 1996 Rocky Mountain Blizzard - 15th Anniversary Build

s'okay, you were a newb back then. but you're just lucky i've been holding on to it for this long, and i hadn't found a smaller replacement 96 blizzard and scored a few other bikes to take it's place. :p

Re: 1996 Rocky Mountain Blizzard - 15th Anniversary Build

:D I'm surprised how hard it is to find a good new 27.0 seat post! Aside from Thomson and the cheapie kalloy bike store generic brands they are non existent...

I remember not buying it from you and thinking yea, ill find a nicer race face one at the store... Nope... Not available...

Lets not even get started with the cursed 30.4 Syncros post for the experience or cirrus...

Re: 1996 Rocky Mountain Blizzard - 15th Anniversary - UPDATE

Ok finally made some progress...

Updates:
- black seat collar
- going with race face seat post (thanks Frank!)
- red CK
- white race face crank and stem
- black ceramic Mavic wheels
- NOS flite saddle
- Judy XC (I think the stock forks for this frame)

Re: 1996 Rocky Mountain Blizzard - 15th Anniversary - UPDATE

i like the stem, and i see you've went with the same white Next LPs as i had on it. what happened to the v-brakes? chain and cable it up and your done.

but… i would go with a red seat collar, as well as red ano hardware on the RF XY, like this:

Re: 1996 Rocky Mountain Blizzard - 15th Anniversary - UPDATE

Ah yes, well I'm on the lookout for red seat clamp hardware but haven't found any as of yet =)

Red chainring bolts are a good idea

I'm using the control tec V brakes I got from you but haven't had a chance to mount them yet, hopefully this weekend =)

Re: 1996 Rocky Mountain Blizzard - 15th Anniversary - UPDATE

Nice bike! I have never seen such a flite saddle? What is this?

Re: 1996 Rocky Mountain Blizzard - 15th Anniversary - UPDATE

Thanks! I have a couple different ones from the same series, they also made them in the old turbo style. Here is another one on one of my many Road Bikes...
