1993 claud butler CBX

next to get the rebuild treatment is this claud butler cbx. when i first moved back ooooop north they were a local company so many locals had a claud of some discription. magna, virage, vantage, pyshco etc. the paperboys manitou.........kinda haha

fast forward three decades later and i still havent owned an alloy cluad butler. the search was on and @retrobikeguy found this reasonably local so a collection enroute to a york rally meeting was sorted. good stuff......

plans are to sort the spares boxes again, and fit some period parts as a i can mixed with a few easier to find parts.

so far i think ive a full xt groupset inc wheels, some manitous forks, some red kalloy bars from @Gruff and hopefully some cabes etc, got some mucky tioga psycho tyres as well i think......unless i karma'd them as well hahah

Found a suitable shim for the use post so cleaned the post and polished it to make it more presentable. Also made an anno red clamp using some old halo caps from an old skewer set and rethreaded an m6 Allen bolt to m5 or whatever size it needed to be haha. Works well and me grandad would be proud also cleaned the mechanism ready for fitting. However I've just realised I haven't any m4 countersunk screws for the mech hanger......so also ordered some red cable ferrules hahaha

Have you weighed the bare frame? Some of the early alu bikes are surprisingly light.
