1992 Raleigh Dyna Tech Diablo

When I collected this bike during the summer it wasn't in the best of states. The original stem had been replaced with an ill fitting quill adaptor and the titanium bars were bent and distorted. The rear hub was also badly worn. However underneath the grease, dirt and cobwebs was a bike that was in reasonable condition.
So the whole thing was stripped back to the frame, all the parts and bearings cleaned, regreased and reassembled.

There are still a few remaining issues, namely one of the brakes which has a broken plastic spring cover and the pads are worn but they'll be replaced in time.

The 1992 Diablo came in blue, with an upgraded DX version which came in yellow. (1993 Diablos came in red or white). The regular Diablo had a Shimano Deore LX drivetrain with Deore thumbshifters. The brakes were specced with Dia-Compe 986 with SS-5 levers.
The frame of course uses the innovative thermally bonded tubes and lugs to construct it. The three main tubes are rolled and seam welded titanium with the distinctive design printed onto it. The lugs are cast aluminium with steel thread inserts in the BB shell.
Having owned a 92 Dyna Tech before, I'm well aware of the great ride characteristics the cro-moly rear stays give.
Unfortunately the down tube on my previous one started to part with the head tube lug.

This one probably won't have as hard a life.

It's good to have another Dyna Tech back in the collection.
