Thankyou for all the constructive criticism one and all :).

Excellent perspective Alex. It is your bike after all!

It's not really my cup-o-tea -- I'd lean to a period correct rebuild, but

1) Kudos for re-reinventing a great frame and riding it!

2) Thanks for not powder-coating it gray

I'm really liking it, cool white stripe on the V's. But how could you live with yourself if you got a smidgen of dirt on those tyres? Destined for a display case if you ask me!

Hats off for the time and effort.

However, IMO a frame as classic and timeless as a Goat needs period correct parts.

The stuff you have thrown as it just isnt working for me.

But, as long as it makes you happy then ride on chap!

I believe that frame was spec'd with all black ano bits back in the day; this would be like looking at film/negatives of that bike from bitd :D

Big points for buying and keeping that frame, back when they were not all that popular.

Big points for leaving the frame untouched (no repaints or welded on disc tabs)

Not my style, but all the white actually highlights the frame even more, and riding this bike is all about the frame...so well done ;)

btw, I have long fingers, and know exactly what you go through with lever positioning.

Sorry but it's like a pork pie short of a picnic, can understand the upgrade ,but not the choice of naff parts, if you want a modern bike buy one, thats retro blasphemy of the highest order imho, sorry no offence meant.
