1990 Ibis SS

Remko

Senior Retro Guru
Hi,
I've been working on this bike for some time now and I think it's almost finished. It just needs a new set of tires and crank caps.
At the end of 2015 I've bought this frameset from Spikes here on RB. It was built up at least once before but never actually ridden.
I've bought and swapped all the right parts here and there with no hurry at all.
I'm used to my Klein so this should be a very different ride.

Thanks very much to Spikes (frameset), Retromike (crankset and chain), Troje (seatpost and brakelevers), Retro Sport(pedals), Jeroen from Dik's Bikestore (saddle), those nice elderly people that sold me their Koga Miyata Sky Carbolite which I needed for the wheelset, gears and brakes, and the guy that split his Cannondale SM600 so I could use his Salsa stem and handlebars.......
Building bikes is just a great social thing.

Nice one, Remko  ! And big..
Great color and lovely kit.

Was expecting a single speed build  , but this is way better :D

Enjoy!

Re:

Thanks Eef, and thanks for the xt bb.
The frame looks very large but it has a really short toptube and a high front end.
I expect it to be a very relaxed riding bike.

How is the Bioracer coming along?

Re:

The Ibis is a great bike, I'm really enjoying riding again. Steel, short toptube and thumbshifters are the recipe for me.
