1990 Gary Fisher AL1
It's on eBay for £350 so you can talk me down from there
Up for sale is this little gem of a 90's mountain bike. When I got it, it was all but unbranded apart from the "Fisher" stem. The previous owner had ground off all the paint and left it raw. It also had a mixed Exage groupset. I've done a bit of research, comparing photos etc and I believe this is an early AL1 model.
Since it has been in my possession I have stripped it down completely and spent hours wet sanding the frame back to a smooth shiny raw finish. This was polished up and new decals applied. The frame is still in a raw state and doesn't have any clear coat. I also ditched the Exage groupset and fitted a Deore DX group with the 3x7 rapid fire trigger shifters of a slightly later generation.
I know the fork has caught your eye, so let's talk about that. It's a Rockshox RS1 in 1 1/4" threaded. The RS1 was the original mountain bike suspension offered from Rockshox. It's a 32 year old fork and unfortunately the years have taken their toll on the seals. These are air/oil forks and get pumped up with a regular old football pump needle. They will inflate, but won't hold pressure for long as I found out on the first ride. I believe rebuild kits are available if you want to tackle that. Either way, this is an iconic fork and apparently sell for more than I'm selling the whole bike for if you check the eBay sold listings. (I could only find one to be honest...)
Apart from that - it's a lovely bike but I have too many and it just doesn't get used.
Happy for buyer to collect or I will box up and send via Paisley Freight fully insured.
Start date of listing is 18/9/22 and I'll let it run for one month before it's stripped. So stripping date is 18/10/22.

I think this may have been moved to the eBay part by mistake? It’s listed on eBay but this is an advert for here. I’ve not posted an eBay link.

It did fit in a bit of a grey area for me (I moved it) but all for sale ads need a price and I read your ad, perhaps incorrectly, as an eBay price with ‘offers’ here
