1990 Alpinestars Cro Mega Lx

Re:

Thanks for that I'll order one just in case. Seriously trying to reuse everything original on the bike if possible though.
No option but to change the cables and I've a pair of porcs to replace the cracked spec team master tyres that are on it.
I'm even trying to save the original very battered saddle.

Re:

Finally got some images.

A mix of stuff that may be useful?

3 x integrated types. 34, 34.9 and 35.

marin QR with lesser size skewer. some surface corrosion underneath.

The nos one has the chunky skewer. pretty clean.

Feel free to mix n match until you get a presentable combo?

£1 for the lot. postage aint worth the effort but can possibly pass to you in yorkshire somewhere.

I have a pair of Alpinestars TKO tyres hanging up in the garage that i'll never use and would be happy to trade.

Re:

Finished.

By no means perfect but fully working and reasonably presentable.
The white pearl paint polished up quite nicely and nearly all the rust is gone. Im leaving the forks alone. T cut and polish brought the shine back but other than a full respray they aren't getting any better.
All components have been stripped and cleaned and the only new parts it needed were a bb and cables. Even the grips and brake pads are still good.

Bloody well done with this! I do have a soft spot for the 1990 frames, and the CM LX pink from 90 & 91 equally so.
Top effort on what you've done.

Thanks very much its always nice to rescue a basket case and give it a few more years on the trails.

I'm going to look for a 92 Cromega Dx next, then I've got all the Astars I wanted other than the Ti like you are building :D
