I have the same bike! I bought it as a parts donor actually - full 6-speed XT kit in mint condition. I sold the Bulge bar to another member here - can't remember who - you need the Pewter color if you're looking to go original. the stock stem is a particularly nice item - It's actually a Nitto.

EDIT: you know what's really funny - I have an Easton EA70 post in my Montare at the moment - only 27.0 I own.

I agree with your decision not to respray - the imperfections are so small as not to matter. It looks set for a really good build - enjoy it

To be honest..... I only drove it around the block to get the pictures... That was nice, though!

Will get it out on the trails for the first time at the Holland Retro Ride on May 28th!
