1986 Land Shark Dirt Shark MTB

Hi all, I hope 2023 has been a good year for everyone thus far. I haven't posted anything in a while so I thought I'd offer up this Dirt Shark for your collective critique.

I've wanted one for quite some time as I'm a big fan of Slawtas paintwork and from what I understand no two paint jobs are the same.

This is a 1986 fillet brazed frame fork and handlebar/stem combo welded up and painted by the man himself John Slawta. Prestige tubing if the decals are to be believed and a full Deerhead group as you can see. The paint does have a pearlescent base to it but I'm not sure if I've captured that with my questionable photography skills.

happy holidays to all and and best wishes for the new year.

Very nice

Always hard to capture paint on photos, still looks nice though.

Love sharks! And this one’s paint job survives very well too! Enjoy it and happy holidays to all!

wow. 1986. I remember mtb in 1986 and they nothing looked like this. It’s like an alien arrived to show us what mtb will look like.

I am having trouble imagining the sort of vision i would need to buy something like this new.

I’d love to know the history of this bike and see some photos through the years.
