17 years ago today, he was taken from our humble but great mountain biking community.

jason inspired from the first time i saw him in mbuk with sophie riding salsa's. i followed him throughout his ups and downs and he really inspired me. his riding style, bikes, even long hair, baggies and vans, admittedly this was shared with peaty, warner and hemming ;)

a few years ago i got his tattoo on my back, a little gester that i love and will carry with me forever as a reminder that if you try herd enough you can reach your goals.............and that fast corners are safer, and faster with ya leg out mx style :D

after all the recent and past builds of bikes, sinnermans exquisite hardisty, jasons apparent salsa thats vanished.... s-works etc, i decided it fitting that id revisit woodhead pass and the memorial to JMC.

41 miles later, a tear and lump in my throat after sitting reflecting a while and i was back at ladybower. the strength i got from this helped me ride up snakes pass etc which nearly destroyed my legs lol

anyway, i could rabbit on for hours so ill let the pics summarise up the ride, the quality is poor im sorry but youll get the idea.

Awesome, never a year goes by that I don't reflect on my childhood, and my inspiration for going out and hammering the trails, and generally being on/a part of a bike, I still can't work up the bottle to get his tat done, I will do, very soon!
Amazing guy, inspirational rider, and downright fantastic guy....

You can keep your footballers, they're all pussies, jmc is a true hero!!

I use to make a special trip to the specialist book store to grab MTBR back in the early 90s to see what was up "over there" in the scene, so I was well aware of who Jason was before his I'm-here-and-I've-come-to-beat-you-all performance at Mamoth. Always found his have as much fun as possible while being deadly serious about his craft attitude to be refreshing.
