No rest for the wicked...

Here is the bike i bought from Rody with one of his forks and headsets

I think this was originally MikeyNYC's on this forum a while back but...

Here is my build

1990 Wicked

Groovy Hoe-down fork

Cane Creek Headset

Ritchey force stem

Answer Taperlite 2 bars

Salsa grips

A mix of standard Shimano 730, 732, 735 stuff

Red Chill Pills

Araya RM20 heat treated rims

Ritchey Megabite tires

Selle Italia Flite ti saddle

Syncros seatpost

AND a Jen Green Brass Cast Head tube Badge

All in all very tasty in my eyes...

Not digging the grips (and I wish the whole Syncros logo was showing), but everything else oozes awesome :)

Cool build!

Not keen on the grips either, but otherwise a lovely bike.

I especially like those first gen rapid fires, mostly because they are a rare sight here on RB (everyone replaces them with thumbies), and because they look cool. I actually prefer thumbies, but it's nice to see RF's once in awhile.

A quick question. Why the Vicious Cycles Shayla logo on the top of the seat tube?

A Vicious repaint? Maybe Carl made it way back when; wasn't he a Fat builder?

thanks for all the responses, is it that we don't like tho brand of salsa grips? or the color? same with the saddle....I have a black flite ti, and WTB grips if people think that will help. I also have a black american classic seat post with no writing.

thoughts?

Salsa grips are my vavourite! Not those ones, but the earlier, skinnier ones. They're thin but very comfy and grippy, but a right bugger to get off carbon bars.

I don't think the brand is an issue mate, just that they are much more modern than the rest of the build and the saddle looks far too modern with the flashy logos etc...... I personally don't think it needs the red as it deters form the classy understated looks of the rest of the build. I think the black flite, American classic post and the plain wtb grips will vastly improve the looks.
