Update 07/08/11
Finally managed to finish the Vitus. I love bonded frames and this has to be one of the finest looking ones in my view, the details in the carbon kevlar weave is lovely to look at and the lacquer is so well finished too.

Please. Don't close the jaws on your stand.

You really don't want to know how many Pinarello Prince frames I sent to the tip because a semi-pro team mechanic failed to understand that it's better to use an alloy seatpost to tighten the jaws onto instead.

+1 to that. I've always been wary of buying carbon frames which use a clamp-on front mech for similar reasons.

Thanks, yes I'm aware of the dangers and only rest it on the jaws for light work.
Looks like the project may be delayed anyway, blew the engine in my car...

very nice era stuff ,that rear mech is 8 speed (no bolt visible to the pulley cage), after that the cranks went "low profile" 7410 and the brake calipers went "dual pivot" 7403

Lovely, lovely, show us more of the frame. Been looking for a Vitus 992 myself in that red/purple colour. Saw one the other day, but wasn't my size.... :(
Look forward to see yours getting build up.

Beautiful! 8) Always lusted after a carbon 9 back in my racing days....a 787 was as much as i could afford with Dura Ace, so you've pretty much got possibly my all time dream bike!

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? well, guess why i wrapped my old Vitus in carbon film recently when it got a rebuild?
